Hi! My name is Marina Burana. I am also called 蓮花 (Lian Hua), which in Chinese means "Lotus Flower". I am originally from Argentina but based in Taiwan.

I am a writer, and I work as a freelance puppet builder for different companies, performers and ensembles and I also perform. I use many different materials to build puppets, but my favorite ones are discarded materials and the barkcloth I make from the Paper Mulberry tree.
My performances are mainly for adult audiences (sometimes for younger audiences too). I am interested in all forms of puppetry, particularly the intersection of shadow puppets, object theatre, moving panoramas and pop-ups. Very often I play the violin or the viola as part of my puppet shows.

I believe in the little details we unconsciously brush aside, from which, I feel, stem the intricacies and playfulness of our daily life. I like to gravitate to the fringes of what is considered real and explore the interconnectedness of all of us as humans, and as part of nature.
